The police on a tip-off conducted a search operation in Kanagarayankulam, Vavuniya and recovered 13 rounds of mortar ammunition left buried in the area.
The search was carried out with assistance from the Special Task Force (STF) last afternoon (13) following a court order obtained from the Vavuniya Magistrate.
The police added that the search operation will continue in Kanagarayankulam today as well.
