The World Health Organization (WHO) report on the eradication of Dengue in Sri Lanka has been submitted to the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne.

According to the Ministry of Health, the report was presented to the Minister of Health at the National Blood Transfusion Center of Narahenpita.

A group of four doctors representing the countries of India, Nepal and Sri Lanka were nominated to compile the WHO report.

The report contains a detailed and organized mechanism that aims to reduce both the population density of Dengue mosquitoes and the number of Dengue patients by 50 percent.

Representatives of the WHO informed the cabinet of ministers about the report today (11).

The team of representatives had reportedly affirmed that hospital services had administered timely treatment in line with the dawn of the epidemic’s spread.

They had also identified the controlled Dengue mortality rate as a favourable sign.
