A special discussion regarding the SAITM issue took place between the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday (12).
The GMOA announced that the discussion was held last night (12) at the Prime Minister’s official residence, Temple Trees.
The discussion had extensively addressed the problematic situation that had arisen as a result of the SAITM issue.
President of the GMOA, Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya stated that the Prime Minister had agreed to implement the five proposals submitted by the GMOA in March, in order to solve the SAITM issue.
Accordingly, PM Wickremesinghe had reportedly already instructed Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne to take the necessary steps to implement the GMOA’s series of proposals.
Dr. Padeniya stated that he believed the proposals would be implemented without delay.
