The Government Surveyors’ Association has made the decision to conduct a continuous strike, starting today (13).
President of the Association, Duminda Udugoda stated that the decision was made as the Government had not responded to the previously launched token strike favourably.
He explained that although a discussion had been held with the Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms, Gayantha Karunathilaka yesterday (12), no proper solutions had been provided.
When Ada Derana made an inquiry from the Minister of Lands and Parliamentary Reforms regarding the matter, he stated that the Association’s requests had been discussed extensively, and that he had agreed to provide suitable solutions as soon as possible.
He added that it was therefore not appropriate of the surveyors to launch a continuous strike.
