19- year-old crushed to death in Mirigama

An individual has passed away after being crushed by a rock that had fallen on a tipper truck that had arrived to transport the rocks.
Police stated that a mound of sand along with the rock had fallen onto the tipper truck, when the three individuals found inside the truck were admitted to the Mirigama Hospital after suffering critical injuries, where one had later passed away.
The deceased has been identified as a 19-year-old from Warakapola, who has been confirmed as the driver of the truck.
The two other individuals who had received injuries from the accident were later transferred to the Wathupitiwala Base Hospital, for further treatment.
Mirigama Police have begun further investigations on the matter.
