All-school Shramadana campaign for dengue prevention commences today

A three-day Shramadana campaign is scheduled to commence today (28) for the purpose of clearing school premises of dengue breeding grounds.
All schools across the island will reportedly be participating in the widespread campaign.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Education has notified all schools that students, teachers and principals alike must get involved in the clean-up, and that they may refrain from regular studies.
Minister of Education, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam stated that the Armed Forces and the Police would also be involved in the campaign.
The Minister proceeded to add that teachers and students would be allowed to attend school in clothes that facilitate manual labour, and confirmed that uniforms were not a must.
