Two police officers attacked with swords in Jaffna

Two police officers have been hospitalized with critical injuries after they were attacked a group of sword-wielding individuals in the Kondavil area at Kopai, Jaffna.
Police spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that a group of individuals on motorcycles had carried out the attack at around 12.15pm today (30) while the two officers were on their way to duty.
Two Constables attached to the Kopai Police Station were the target of the brutal attack while one of them is said to be a Tamil.
They are currently receiving treatment at the Jaffna Hospital after sustaining multiple injuries inflicted using sharp objects.
Kopai Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
