Randoli Perahera begins today

The historic Kandy Esala Perahera continues with the first Randoli Perahera today.
The chief custodian of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara reported that the final Kumbal Perahera was successfully completed last night (02)
The Randolee Perahera ceremony will continue on till August 07, 2017.
The Kandy Perahera which is one of the most revered Sri Lankan festivals attracts thousands of devotees and people from across the year every year. This Grand pagent which features native dancing, instruments and a host of colourfully adorned elephants is held in reverence of the tooth relic of Lord Gauthama Buddha.
The ritual of parading the sacred tooth relic throughout the city of Kandy is regarded as one of the most diverse and historic pagents in Asia.
