Teaching is the mother of all professions – Reginald Coorey

Reginald Coorey the Governor of the Northern Province stated that teaching is the mother of all professions.
Govenor Coorey made these remarks at the 7th edition of the Teachers Conference organized by the All island Professional Lecturers Association.
He also stated that he too entered the teaching field at a telling time of his life and expressed his views on how the teaching profession helped him grow and develop into the status he has achieved today. He also stated that as a teacher himself, he has experienced the joys and satisfaction of being a teacher.
He also stated that a teacher is never a professional who strives for money, but one who aims to instill kindness, compassion and values in his or her students.
This event was attended by the speaker of parliment Deshabandu Karu Jayasuriya and the minister of education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.
