The Department of Meteorology stated that a slight increase prevailing showery weather in the South Western part of the island is expected.
Cloudy skies can be expected in most parts of the island.
They reported that wind speed could pick up around the island (Particularly in the central hills, North-central, Central land Southern provinces and in the Batticaloa district), Western and Southern sea areas .
Furthermore, Showers could occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa,Central and North-western provinces and in the Galle, Ampara and Matara districts and the Uva provinces at around 2.00pm.
Heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places in the Ratnapura, Kegalle,Kandy, Galleand Kaluthara districts.
Fairly heavy falls (about 50mm) can be expected at some places in the Nuwara-Eliya, Matara and Colombo districts.
