No foreseeable verdict on Dassanayake trial

Former Navy Spokesperson Commodore D.K.P.Dassanayake has been further remanded till August 24, 2017 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate court.

Commodore Dassanayake was arrested on July 12, after an investigation was conducted into an abduction that had occurred during the civil-war. 

The investigation revealed that 11 youth had been abducted illegally and were detained before completely disappearing during 2008-2009. 

Dassanayake, who was the Navy spokesperson at the time was accused for being involved in the scandal.
