Private tutor accused of child abuse remanded

The National Child Protection Authority has reported that a private tutor accused of child abuse has been further remanded following a hearing at the Aluthkade Magistrate court. 

The special Police unit entailed to the National Child Protection Authority conducted a special investigation on the private tutor, who was accused of showing pornographic material to a 15 year old student in an attempt to lure the child into sexual activities.   

The family psychiatrist of the student provided intelligence to the Child Protection Authority after the child continuously confided in the psychiatrist of his tutor’s constant sexual advances. Following the complaint the Police arrested the tutor who has been placed under further remand till the inquiry is complete.
