The Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy declared that the construction of Wind Farms will commence, as an initiative of the long-term power generation project that is to be implemented in Sri Lanka.
Media Spokesperson for the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy Sulakshana Jayawardena stated that the construction of wind turbines for wind energy power plants in Mannar had already commenced.
He also stated that the ambition of the Ministry is to generate enough power from natural and renewable energy plants to fully service the National Power grid.
Meanwhile, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) of Sri Lanka will launch a public advisory program for the convenience of electric charging centers and for the benefit of all consumers using electronic vehicles.
Director General of the PUC Damitha Kumarasinghe said that the program will enable to commission to better equip and facilitate charging centers throughout the nation.
