Landslide early warning issued for 3 districts

The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued a landslide early warning for three districts, in the wake of the prevalent adverse weather conditions.
Accordingly, the landslide warning has been issued for specific areas in the Rathnapura, Kalutara and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
It said that since the rainfall within the past 24 hours has exceeded 75mm, if the rains continue, people should be watchful on the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence.
The following administrative divisions have been named it the warning:
Rathnapura
Eheliyagoda divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas -- Specially Karadana North & West, Kalatuwawa West, Makota, Deiyagala, Willegoda, Bopatta, Athgangula, Mahahara, Thalawitiya and Arapola GN Divisions.
Ayagama divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas -- Specially Namunuthenna, Gangodakanda, Sinhalagoda, Galathura, Kavichchikanda, Gawaragiriya, Dumbaramanana, Udugala, Kolambawa, Umangedara, Katepola and Madabeddara GN Divisions.
Ratnapura divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas -- Specially Samanpedesa, Samagipura and Mowagamkanda.
Kuruwita divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas -- Specially, Adavikanda, Laxshakanda, Devipahala, Keeragala and Walandura areas.
Pelmadulla divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas.
Kalutara
Bulathsinhala and Palindanuwara divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas.
Nuwara-Eliya
Nuwaraeliya divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas -- Specially, Labukele area.
