The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) now says that a With Holding Tax (WHT) of 5 percent should be deducted from Interest paid on Non-Resident Foreign Currency (NRFC) deposits.
The CBSL issued a statement today (27), making a further clarification to yesterday’s press release with regard to taxation of interest income on the Non-Resident Foreign Currency (NRFC) accounts in the new Inland Revenue Act.
