The local production of coconut is sufficient for domestic consumption, said Coconut Research Institute Former Director, Jayantha Gunathilake .
However, coconut is not sufficient for local consumption due to the export, he added.
The Form Director also pointed out that there should be a change in the program implemented to encourage coconut planters.
