Protest to be held as previously planned - MP Namal

The protest which was scheduled to be held today(06) against the agreement reached between the Government with two foreign companies to operate Hambantota port and Mattala airport will be held as previously planned,despite the court restriction,stated MP Namal Rajapaksa.

 

Namal Rajapaksa alleged that the government is in the process of selling public lands to foreign investors in order to gain monetary benefits.

 

However a restriction order was issued by the court yesterday (05) preventing MP Namal Rajapaksa and members of the Joint Opposition from conducting protests near the Matala Rajapaksa International Airport. 

 

The court issued the restriction order to MP Namal Rajapaksa and MP D.V. Chanaka yesterday on a request made by the Hambantota Police.

 

The Hambantota port is to be operated by a Chinese company while Mattala Airport will be operated by an Indian company.
