E-Voting system to be introduced – Elections Commissioner

October 15, 2017   10:52 pm

The Commissioner of Elections Mahinda Deshapriya stated that initial steps have been taken to introduce an electronic voting system to Sri Lanka.

He stated that the voting system will be introduced to mitigate the problems faced by individuals under special or extreme circumstances who are unable to physically appear before a polling station.

Mahinda Deshapriya expressed these sentiments while addressing an event at Ratmalana held to commemorate International White Cane day earlier today (15).
