Vasantha Senanayake summoned by Colombo HC

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Vasantha Senanayake has been summoned by the Colombo High-court as the first witness of the ongoing trail against Ven Uduwe Dhammaloka thero who was charged for illegally possessing an elephant calf without a permit. 

The case against Ven.Dhammaloka thero has been presented to court and will be debated on today (24). 

Ada Derana court reporters confirm that Vasantha Senanayake was not present during court proceedings today after he was called as a witness for the case. 

The Senior Deputy Solicitor General informed the House that State Minister for Foreign Affairs Vasantha Senanayake could not attend sessions today as he was on official duty outside of Colombo. 

Accordingly Vasantha Senanayake was issued summons to appear before court on November 27 where the case will be debated on again.
