President invites Qatari Premier to visit Sri Lanka

A bilateral meeting between President Maithripala Sirisena and the Prime Minister of Qatar Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani was held today (Oct. 26), at the hotel where the former is staying in Doha.
The Prime Minister said the state visit of President Sirisena is a special privilege to Qatar. He said this visit will further strengthen the bilateral cooperation between the countries, the President’s Media Division said.
The two leaders discussed about continuously maintaining the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Sirisena briefed the Qatari Premier about the investment opportunities in Sri Lanka in the fields of power and energy.
The President thanked the Qatari Prime Minister for the assistance given to Sri Lanka at international level. He also thanked the Premier for the assistance given to the Sri Lankans who are working in many fields in Qatar.
He stated the new agreements, signed during this visit will further increase the economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the two countries.
The President pointed out the importance of increasing the cooperation among all the countries in world in an era when the entire world is connected with modern technology.
President Sirisena invited the Qatari Premier to pay a visit to Sri Lanka. The Premier who accepted the invitation said it will further strengthen the relations between Sri Lanka and Qatar.
