Minister of Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development Palany Thigambaran stated that he had no involvement in the recent decision taken to change the name of the Hatton Thondaman Vocational Training Centre.
Minister Thigambaran stated that the decision to change the name of the vocational training centre to the Poolbank Vocational Training Centre was taken by the Ministry before his appointment. Thereby he stated that the Ministry will stand by the decision to change the name of the institute.
He further stated that the volatile political parties that conducted the protests in Hatton yesterday (26), did so because they could not bear to witness the vast development seen in the Ministry of Hill Country and New Villages under his leadership.
