Colombo University Faculty of Arts to reopen on Monday

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo announced that the Faculty of Arts of the University of Colombo will reopen on Monday (6), following the temporary closing of the faculty after a clash between two student groups earlier this month.
The Faculty of Arts was closed on October 17, following a clash between two student groups.
Accordingly, The Vice Chancellor issued an order to all students to refrain from entering the Arts Faculty premised till further notice.
Two students who sustained minor injuries during the clash which took place at the students’ hostels were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
An investigation into the incident was conducted by the Faculty Council and the report will be handed over to Colombo University Vice Chancellor Professor Lakshman Dissanayke.
