
Sri Lanka Navy troops rendered assistance to bring ashore a critically-ill fisherman for treatment on Friday (03rd November). According to Navy media, the fisherman had been onboard the multi-day fishing trawler “Lakmal Putha’, which had left the Beruwela fishery harbour for fishing. Into the journey he had fallen ill due a chest pain.
Up on being alerted of the emergency, Navy has dispatched its Fast Attack Craft, P 411 to the location of the fishing trawler, 16 nautical miles off the Galle Light House. The patient was rushed to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital upon being brought to the Galle Harbour.
