Body of 4-year old that drowned in Thelgamu-Oya recovered

Local authorities recovered a body of a young girl earlier today (5) that was swept away by strong currents yesterday while a group of people were bathing in Thelgamu-oya. 

Police officials confirm that the body of the 4-year old girl was recovered downstream of Wedda Peni Ella. 

Eight individuals were swept away by strong current yesterday (4) at wedda peni ella. Residents of the area and police officials recovered 5 bodies of the deceased persons who were swept away. 

Accordingly the bodies of 2 males, 3 females and a young child have been recovered. 

Reports confirm that two children aged 12 and 7 are still missing. Police officials are still conducting a search for the two missing children.
