Several members of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) had telephone conversations with the owner of Perpetual Treasuries Limited, Arjun Aloysius, during the period of the COPE inquiry into the issuance of treasury bonds.
This was uncovered today (16) through an analysis report submitted to the President Commission of Inquiry (CoI) investigations the controversial Central Bank treasury bond scam by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
According to the list, five members of the COPE committee had phone conversations with Arjun Aloysius while four of them are MPs of the United National Party (UNP).
MPs Sujeewa Senasinghe, Dayasiri Jayasekara, Ajith P. Perera, Harshana Rajakaruna and Hector Appuhamy had phone conversations with the owner of Perpetual Treasuries during the time period of the COPE inquiry into the bond scam.
