Three killed and one injured in car-train accident in Veyangoda

Reports confirm that three persons were killed and one gravely injured following an accident between a train and a motor car at the Heendeniya-pattigoda railway crossing that occurred at 7.30am today (20). 

The collision occurred when a motor car attempted to clear the unguarded railway crossing while a cargo-train transporting fuel towards Colombo was in close proximity to the junction.
  
The injured person is currently receiving treatment at the Wathupitiwala hospital.
