Elections must be held even under previous system – Karu Paranawithana

Deputy Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training Karunarathna Paranawithana stated that the Local government elections must be held even if they should be held under the previous election system.
He pointed out the varied problems related to the upcoming elections have postponed the public from expressing their view.
MP S.M.Chandrasena stated that the postponement of elections is a depravation of democracy and an infringement of basic human rights.
Meanwhile leader of the NFF Wimal Weerawansa stated that the government has continued to postpone elections to fulfill their own political agendas.
