
The Department of Examinations stated that another student from a leading school in Colombo is currently being questioned over allegations of utilizing a mobile phone during the GCE Ordinary Level Mathematics examination yesterday (18).
Department officials stated that the candidate will be handed over to the police should allegations against the student be proved.
Police yesterday commenced an investigation into an incident of a student in Anuradhapura using a mobile phone during the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination.
The student had reportedly used a mobile to answer the O/L Maths exam which was held yesterday (18).
The mobile phone and answer paper of the student, who had answered questions using the application known as Viber during the exam, have been taken into custody by police.
