
Close to 1,000 bottles of foreign liquor imported into the country by avoiding excise duties have been taken into custody in the Kotahena area.
The bottles were taken into custody following an operation carried out based on information received by the organized crimes and narcotics raid unit of the Special Task Force (STF).
The detection was made near the harbour exit located in Kotahena this afternoon while the they were being transported in a white colored van, the STF said.
The arrested suspects and bottles of liquor have been handed over to the Kotahen Police Station for onward action.
