An elderly foreign tourist has reportedly drowned while bathing in the sea near the Nilaveli Beach.
Police said that the deceased is a 71-year-old Italian national and that his body was recovered.
The remains have been placed at the Trincomalee Hospital while Nilaveli Police has commenced an inv instigation.
