Kerala Ganja worth Rs 25 million seized; 2 arrested

Chilaw Police arrested 2 suspects in possession of 220 kilograms of Kerala Ganja estimated to be worth around Rs 25 million in a van at Bangadeniya Junction, the Police Spokesman said.

He said the suspects were transporting the cannabis in the van when they were arrested near the Bangadeniya Junction in Chilaw today (5).

Police found the stock of cannabis when they inspected the van traveling from Jaffna towards Colombo on a suspicious this afternoon.

The haul of the Kerala Cannabis worth Rs. 25 million is believed to have been smuggled into the country from India.

Chilaw Police is conducting further investigations.
