Reginald Cooray sworn in as Northern Province Governor

Reginald Cooray who was sworn in as Central Province Governor yesterday (12) again sworn in as Northern Province Governor in front of  President Maithripala Sirisena  today (13).

 

The appointment has been made considering the strong demand from the Northern people, Reginald Cooray said while addressing a media briefing held today.

 


“The President had a discussion with all newly appointed Governors today. During the discussion, President informed all Governors except Governor-Rohitha Bogollagama to exchange their governing provinces on a voluntary basis,” Cooray said.

 

“The exemption was granted to Governor Rohitha Bogollagama as he was appointed very recently. The exchanges were made following discussions held among the Governors and I was re-appointed as the Govermenor NP due to the strong demand of its people.” he added.

 


Further speaking Cooray said that the crisis which has occurred between the two major parties would affect the stability of the country.
