Severe thunderstorm warning for several provinces and districts

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has issued severe thunderstorm warning for Western, Sabaragamuwa,Central, North-Western and Uva Provinces, and Galle, Matara, Vavuniya Mannar districts within the next nine hours.
Thunderstorms accompanied by severe lightning and thunder are likely to occur in the following warning areas during next several hours:
Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Uva provinces and Galle, Matara, Vauniya and Kilinochchi districts.
Fairly heavy rain falls are expected at some places (above 75mm). Temporarily strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmph are also possible during thundershowers.
