A person has been arrested near Amarawewa area in Tissamaharama for the possession of a locally manufactured illegal gun powder fire arm.
The arrest has been based on a tip-off received by the officials of the Kataragama Camp of the Special Task Force.
According to the officials the arrested person had been hunting animals.
He had been handed over to the Tissamaharama Police Station for further investigations.
