UPDATE (3.34pm) - Darley Road in Colombo has been blocked for traffic Ibbanwala Junction due to the Joint Opposition protest march, Ada Derana reporter said.
Severe traffic congestion is currently being reported on several roads in Colombo including from Technical College Junction in Maradana towards Pettah.
Heavy traffic has also been reported in Colombo Fort and Town Hall areas as protest marches from several directions are converging on Colombo for the ‘Jana Balaya Colambata’ protest and rally.
The rally organized by the Joint Opposition is slated to be held at Lake House Roundabout.
Accordingly the party’s supporters from several districts are expected to march towards Lake House Roundabout through Armour Street, Olcott Mawatha through Technical Junction.
Meanwhile another group will reach Lake House Roundabout from Maradana through D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha.
It is learnt that 6 protest marches divided according to provinces will reach the final destination through different roads.
