Indian apprehended for possession of foreign liquor

An Indian national has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for the illegal possession of a foreign liquor stock.

 

Police Headquarters stated the suspect was arrested on a tip-off received by the police officers attached to BIA.

 

The arrestee is a 37 year old from Tamil Nadu and the police had found 11 liters of foreign liquor in his possession.

 

The suspect has been fined Rs 9,000 after being produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court, according to the Police.
