Two constables hospitalized following assault on Police officers

A group of police officers have been assaulted when they had gone for a raid on Cannabis at Teldeniya, stated Girandurukotte Police.
Six police officers from Girandurukotte had gone on the raid unarmed when they had been attacked by nearly 10 thugs, at around 4.30 pm last evening (16).
This conflict had resulted in 2 police constables being admitted at the Mahiyangana base Hospital due to injuries.
Police had stated that the raid was conducted on a tip-off by the villagers and it had been revealed that a certain group has been harassing the villagers.
One suspect of the incident has been arrested and operations are conducted to seize the other suspects.
Girandurukotte is conducting further investigations on the incident.
