Embilipitiya paper mill to be rented out to Korean company

The decision to revive the Embilipitiya Paper Mill, which had discontinued its production, has received Cabinet approval.

A proposal has been brought forward by Korean SPA Packaging (pvt) Ltd. to commence production at the mill by upgrading machinery and infrastructure.

Accordingly, the Embilipitiya Paper Mill has been decided to be rented out to Korean SPA Packaging (pvt) Ltd. to produce packaging material, with an investment of Rs 1200 million.

The proposal was presented to the Cabinet by Minister Rishad Bathiudeen.
