The special commission, appointed to rectify the salary disparities and issues related to salaries in the Public Service, has commenced accepting relevant opinions and suggestions.
Accordingly, the Heads of the Departments and trade union representatives have been given the opportunity to provide their opinions and suggestions on salary disparities and how to rectify these issues.
Preliminary phase of enquiring recommendations is scheduled to conclude this month.
Reportedly, a final report on the prevailing salary disparities in the Public Service is to be submitted to President Maithripala Sirisena by the end of this October.
The President recently appointed a Special Commission comprising 15 members, to probe salary disparities and issues related to salaries in the Public Service.
