Hashish worth Rs 1.1 mn concealed between t-shirts seized at BIA

A 37 year old businessman has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), when he arrived from Chennai this morning (01).

Customs officials have found parcels Hashish concealed within a stock of t-shirts when he arrived at the Red Channel at BIA.

Police have seized 1 kg 100 g of Hashish packed in to 4 parcels within the t-shirts.

Reportedly, the arrested passenger is a resident of Katugasthota area.

According to Customs, the value of the stash of hashish is estimated to be worth Rs 1.1 million.

Further investigations are carried out by Customs officials.
