Three officers suspended as female suspect escapes custody

Three officers attached to the Hikkaduwa Police Station have been detained as a detained female suspect escaped custody.

 

Police Media Spokesperson’s Office stated that a police inspector and a 2 police constables have been suspended with effect from yesterday (30).

 

Reportedly, the said woman had been under custody for the possession of 2 g 600 mg of heroin.

 

Two police teams have been deployed to apprehend the suspect while the Hikkaduwa Police is conducting investigation into the matter.
