The Colombo Magistrate’s Court ordered to take up the case against former minister Johnston Fernando and two others, who have been charged over the alleged financial misuse of Rs 40 million in funds belonging to Lanka Sathosa, on December 14.
The Colombo Magistrate also ordered to produce the main defendant of the case MP Johnston Fernando before the court if he is remanded in custody on that day.
Colombo Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake issued this order when the case was taken up before the court today (02).
The Bribery Commission had filed the case against MP Johnston Fernando and two others under the Bribery Act, for allegedly removing 153 Sathosa employees from their official duties and deploying them for political activities from 2010-2014 and causing a loss of nearly Rs 40 million to the state during the administration of the former government.
