
The National Movement of Web Journalists in Sri Lanka has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to record a statement today (03).
The movement had lodged a complaint on June 29 at the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) demanding an investigation on the revelation made by the New York Times newspaper regarding the alleged USD 7.6 million of funds rendered by the China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) to the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, for the 2015 Presidential Election campaign.
Currently, the CID has been assigned to carry out the investigations regarding the complaint filed by the National Movement of Web Journalists.
