The budget proposal for the year 2019, themed “A strong economy and a fertile land”, is scheduled to be presented to the Parliament on November 05 by the Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera.
Reportedly, the procedure to obtain public opinion on the upcoming budget, in order to make it more populist, has been commenced as of now, and proposals are now being submitted.
The Ministry of Finance has announced that the general public, professionals, scholars, individuals engaged in production, services, and agriculture sectors are able to submit proposals for the upcoming budget.
The Ministry requests the public to send in the relevant proposals before October 12 to the following postal address or e-mail address:
