Seven arrested for possession of heroin

Two youths have been arrested while transporting 249 g of heroin in a three-wheeler in Kotahena area.

 

The arrest has been made based on a tip-off received by the Organized Crimes Prevention Division (OCPD).

 

The suspects are revealed to be 23-year-old youths residing in Kimbula Ela area.

 

Meanwhile, four individuals including one woman have been apprehended in separate instances in Modara, Mount Lavinia and Grandpass areas for the possession of heroin.

 

The police have seized nearly 31 g of heroin along with these four suspects and they are slated to be produced before Maligakanda and Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Courts.
