October 4, 2018   04:50 pm

Train services on the coastal line beyond Hikkaduwa are delayed due to a lorry entangling on a train engine following a collision at Thiranagama, the railway control room said.

The lorry, transporting Ayurvedic medicine, had collided with the Kandy-bound train at a crossing between Hikkaduwa and Dodanduwa railway stations, a short while ago.

The driver and assistant of the lorry have sustained critical injuries in the accident and have been admitted to hospital.
