A suspect linked to several crimes throughout the country has been arrested in Kohuwala.
Police stated that these crimes were revealed during interrogations when he was arrested for possession of heroin.
The 52 year old suspect from Mawathagama, Kurunegala has been identified to be a registered criminal and 11 arrest warrants have been issued against him by Wattala and Nugegoda Magistrates’ Courts.
Investigations revealed that, he is a suspect wanted for 27 reported cases of child molestation at Kohuwala, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala, Kandy and Katugastota police stations during 2017 and 2018 and 5 minor criminal charges at Kandy police station.
The suspect was remanded until 18th October after being presented at the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court.
