Mother commits suicide in disagreement with son

A 47-year-old woman has committed suicide by jumping off the Gin Oya Bridge in Dummaladeniya, Wennappuwa this evening (11).
The deceased, named Therese Priyanka, is reportedly a resident in Dummaladeniya North.
It has been revealed that the deceased had had a disagreement with her son and that he had been suffering from a mental illness, stated the Police.
A group of people who had seen the woman had taken her to the Lunuwila Hospital in a three-wheeler. However, she had dead upon admittance, stated a hospital spokesman.
The body is kept at the Lunuwila Hospital and Wennappuwa police will be conducting the postmortem.
Further investigations will be conducted by the Wennappuwa Police.
