A person has died following a knife attack carried out by his own father following a dispute between the two of them at a house in Kadawatha, Wennappuwa.
The incident had taken place at around 10.00 p.m. last night (12) following an argument between a father and his son.
The dispute had escalated after the son had reportedly assaulted the father, who in return had grabbed a knife and attacked the son.
The stab victim was rushed to the Marawila Base Hospital in critical condition, however was pronounced dead on admission.
The deceased is a 30-year-old married man, who is a resident of Kadawatha. The postmortem examination is to be carried out today.
The victim’s father has been arrested while Wennappuwa Police is conducting further investigations.
