Lady doctor further remanded over Boralesgamuwa accident

The lady doctor arrested and remanded after being involved in an accident which had resulted in the death of a police officer in Boralesgamuwa, has been further remanded until October 31.

The lady doctor was produced at the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court today (16) and ordered further remanded.

A police officer was killed while his wife and two sons were injured following a head-on collision involving a car and a jeep on Wickramaratne Mawatha, Boralesgamuwa at around 12.45 a.m. on September 30.

The jeep was driven by a 39-year-old lady doctor, who was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. She was subsequently arrested by police and remanded after being produced at court.
